Based between London and copenhagen, Matteo Fogale specialises in furniture and product design, as well as interiors, installations, creative and strategic consultancy. 

Driven by an approach that favours honest and premium materials, functionality, and longevity, his work is a combination of everyday objects reinterpreted with a strong iconic character. 

Matteo was born in Montevideo (Uruguay) and moved to Italy in 2001. He studied at the Art School Leonardo da Vinci followed by IUAV University of Venice. After graduating he worked on a wide variety of projects with design studios like Patricia Urquiola, Nichetto & Partners, Barber & Osgerby, and MAP Project Office. 

In 2013, he established his own brand brose~fogale in collaboration with designer Joscha Brose, designing, producing, and distributing the Camerino Collection. In 2014, he launched a new collection of furniture and products in collaboration with designer Laetitia de Allegri, which was awarded a Wallpaper* Design Award in 2015. 

Since 2018, Matteo has expanded his own body of work with a series of new collaborations, including an exhibition and collection of furniture pieces launched at The Aram Gallery in London. The curation of the Uruguay stand at the London Design Festival for two consecutive years, the creative direction for Miksi Rugs, bespoke furniture pieces for TOG (The Office Group) and collaborations with brands like Carl Hansen and Son, &Tradition, Nine, Sutherland and Woak amongst others.

He lectured at several schools in the UK including Bath Spa University, Ravensbourne, UAL Central Saint Martins, and Kingston School Of Art and freelance as designer for StudioIlse and Heatherwick Studio. Currently he’s also consulting as head of design and product development for ReFramed.

Matteo’s work was finalist at the Wood Awards 2021 and awarded a Design Guild Mark from the Furniture Makers’ Company.
