Milestone Console Table
The Milestone console table was designed with locality in mind. For this unique piece, the Oak wood is sourced from Hever in Kent, 40 miles south of London, and seasoned by Fallen & Felled in East London. Fallen & Felled is a London-based timber company that repurposes fallen urban trees into sustainable hardwood timber, trees that would otherwise be destroyed. The wood is then shaped and a hand-carved finish is applied to the top. The timber is then finished with natural oils. In collaboration with a stonemason8, the complementary stone legs are shaped from Jordan’s Whitbed extracted in Portland, about 180 miles from East London. All parts are assembled together by brass details including a tubular hinge allowing the stone leg to rotate and find the perfect third point of stability.
